Technical Writer

An opportunity has arisen in Technical Publications within TECO 2030. The purpose of this role is to analyse, develop and deliver the Technical Publications

for a complex portfolio of TECO 2030’s products across the maritime and industrial domains.

We are looking for a Technical Writer to produce high-quality documentation that contributes to the overall success of our products. You will join a team of talented tech personnel’s who are and work collaboratively with project managers, Engineering partners, quality engineers, product responsible, and end users to make our products easier to use.

Responsibilities

  • Work with internal teams to obtain an in-depth understanding of the product and the documentation requirements
  • Produce high-quality documentation that meets applicable standards and is appropriate for its intended audience
  • Write easy-to-understand user interface text, operation, and operation guides
  • Create tutorials/training manuals to help end-users 
  • Analyze existing and potential content, focusing on reuse and single-sourcing opportunities
  • Create and maintain the information architecture
  • Create and manage document templates 
  • Act as an ambassador for Technical Publications and can help develop both the team and the corporate capability.

Requirements and skills

  • Proven working experience in technical writing of documentation
  • Support and develop complex engineering descriptive and procedural documentation.
  • Ability to deliver high quality documentation paying attention to detail
  • Ability to quickly grasp complex technical concepts and make them easily understandable in text and pictures
  • Excellent written skills in English
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Basic familiarity with engineering process equipment
  • University degree in Engineering or equivalent is preferred
  • Familiarity with statutory regulators and standards 
  • Governance of technical documentation requirements
